Recently, I was taking an evaluation of my behavior towards the future, using a questionnaire provided by the Futures Guidance organization.
Based on that questionnaire, I am quite proactive, seeing the future as a realm of possibilities. I’m someone who actively tries to influence the future with my choices and solutions.
Looking further into the Five Dimensions of Futures Consciousness, which is summarized below, I also assessed my approach on each of these dimensions:
-
Time Perspective: I focus on agile iteration, balancing thoughtful decision-making with quick, high-quality delivery. It’s about understanding how the past, present, and future intersect to create solutions that can evolve and endure.
-
Agency Beliefs: I firmly believe in empowering teams by fostering autonomy and ownership. Through my leadership and multidisciplinary experience, I work to bridge gaps, inspire collaboration, and drive positive transformation.
-
Openness to Alternatives: Inclusivity and accessibility are key principles I advocate for. My commitment to continuous learning, whether through certifications like IAAP Accessibility or my ongoing CISSP studies, shows my openness to embracing new ideas and industry advancements.
-
Systems Perception: I excel at seeing the big picture while identifying how small details influence the whole. By aligning digital disciplines, ensuring code reusability, and making data-driven decisions, I strive to build coherence and maintainability in complex systems.
-
Concern for Others: Empathy lies at the heart of everything I do. Whether I’m designing barrier-free solutions, nurturing team growth, or teaching Japanese martial arts, I always aim to prioritize the well-being and development of those around me.
By combining technical expertise, leadership, and empathy, I aim to drive forward-thinking strategies that contribute to meaningful, future-conscious environments—both in my professional and personal pursuits. These qualities enable me to embody and extend the concept of Futures Consciousness in my work and personal life.

The radar chart below visualizes the five dimensions of Futures Consciousness and how Jukka might score in each of them, on a certain day, with a certain energy and with a certain mindset:
The chart illustrates how the five dimensions interact and complement each other, creating a holistic approach to futures thinking and consciousness. While theoretical ideals suggest perfect scores across all dimensions, practical implementation recognizes the nuanced reality of applying these concepts in daily professional life.
Ideal is not always the goal, as there should be diversity in people, so should there be in their ways of looking at the future.
